What is Medicare Advantage?

Medicare Advantage, also called Medicare Part C, is a way to get your Medicare benefits through a private insurance company approved by Medicare. These plans cover everything Original Medicare (Part A and Part B) covers, and many plans include more.

  • Hospital coverage (Part A) and medical coverage (Part B)
  • Many plans include prescription drug coverage (Part D)
  • Some plans offer extra benefits such as dental, vision or hearing
  • A yearly limit on what you pay out of pocket for covered services

Benefits, costs and provider networks vary by plan and location.
